WORK CAMPS IN TANZANIA
The International Work Camp Program is a low-cost alternative that gives volunteers the opportunity to work with other volunteers from all over the world. The projects are organized by the WWOOF Tanzania Ngo of Same Tanzania which serve all areas of Kilimanjaro region, together with a British Limited Company Ganimede located in London UK. The concept of voluntary workcamps started as an international movement in the early 1920s as a positive and creative approach to erase the hatred and fears created by World War One. The success of the concept spread worldwide, and the first international work camp in Tanzania began in 1956. By joining an international work camp, you will become part of a volunteering heritage stretching back almost 100 years. Participating in an international short term volunteer project ( so called Workcamp ) can be an exciting prospect. It is an interesting and meaningful way to travel with purpose and spend from 1 to 4 weeks in a foreign environment. Working and living together with other volunteers from around the world provides an excellent opportunity to make many new friends, learn about unknown places and culture, gain new skills and experience. Your time, energy, and enthusiasm can make a difference in areas where help is really needed. In a work camp, international volunteers come together to assist a local community with a project and are prepared to live and work in a communal environment. Work camp is a great way to make new friends, complete a meaningful project and increase international understanding. An international work camp helps to bring a group of people of diverse backgrounds, ages, and nationalities together for the better result. The participants learn a lot about various cultures, environment and different aspects of development.
